Ronny Hirschmann
Director | Filmmaker
Ronny Hirschmann is a Two Times Award Winning Director for feature film, documentaries, & music videos.
Bringing you stories about the complex and beautiful relationships human beings have with each other and with ourselves.
My third short movie, Shotgun, was featured in 25 film festivals around the world, was bought for distribution in Germany, won multiple awards, and helped me become a member of the national directors guild.
But my path to filmmaking wasn’t the traditional one.
It started with a successful hi-tech career, yet something was always missing. No matter how much I tried to do what I thought was the “right thing”, my passion to create kept growing.
So, at 30 years old, after deciding to get married, I did what any upcoming family man would do: I signed up to four years of film school.
I dedicated myself to film studies at Beit Berl College, wrote and directed short social documentaries for a TV magazine, short commercial movies for companies, music videos, and my own short films and documentary.
Simultaneously, in my hi-tech career, I learned to empower people from different teams to make a mutual project successful. As a director, I’m a team player who puts an emphasis on communication with team members and driving win-win collaborations.
I’m results-oriented – I believe in aiming for the stars, and doing the hard work that brings them down to Earth and turns them into reality – but I also care deeply about the creative, artistic part of the movie.
Currently, besides spending time with my spouse, two kids and Canaan dog, I’m developing Shotgun into a feature length film.
As always, my storytelling is focused on the complex and beautiful relationships human beings have with each other and with ourselves, as we figure out our true identities, so hopefully, as a viewer, you’ll feel a little more connected to yourself at the end of the movie.
